I've been considering one of these for camping after using a box solar oven (RIP) for years. Although you don't have to change the angle of solar ovens often, if you anticipate the movement of shadows it will be more effective when you spend time away. Facing the sun, it moves from your left to right in the Northern hemisphere. With your back to the sun, your shadow slowly moves from your left to your right as well. Same direction as reading! Position the GoSun where shadows from buildings, trees, and vehicles won't reach your solar oven during the cooking time. Inside of the vacuum tube, it remains hot like a thermos, and if the food is hot enough, continue cooking while clouds pass by. If you start with the shadow of the sun dial slightly to the left of center, it will gradually center after you leave it and move slightly to the right of center. Have fun experimenting with your new oven!😅

You might also want to consider using ShadeStoper panels. Most solar panels on the market lose up to 90% of their output when there is shade on any portion of the panel. The ShadeStopper panels, on the other hand, apparently continue to produce power when partially shaded. Several 3rd-party videos show "conventional" 100W panels dropping from 85-90 Watts output (unshaded) to <10W output with just an "oven mitt sized item" dropped randomly on the panel. Then they show the ShadeStopper maintaining ~60W output with same size object dropped on them. Could make a HUGE difference when boondocking. (Not affiliated with ShadeStopper - just think it's a pretty cool technology breakthrough...)

If you have problems with your charge controller overheating it will be because you have it laying down on the heat sink. That needs to be vertical so that the heat can dissipate easily.

Very interesting battery with the hub. However the limitations you listed make it inferior to all the battery power stations that are available. Yes they can be expensive but when they are on sale they are superior to having multiple gadgets to handle your needs. For example ecoflow river 2 pro I was able to get for $314 last month during prime days. Those sales are gone but I imagine labor day and black Friday they will return. Ecoflow and bluetti have been competing. If you regularly review their website you can eventually catch a great deal.

If you can afford another oven, the larger diameter oven from KECOP or one of the other Chinese companies that offer them-they are about $200 on amazon. These stoves will fit Mini-Loaf pans and allow you to cook different foods together and/or separate portions. For those that want to cook meat, the stoves heat to 250F and stay there as the water in the meat boils off. They will definitely brown your meat but it might take cooking longer than the “best” internal temperature-the the meat doesn’t dry out. These stoves are also great for keeping food warm but you want to let them cool a lot or your food will dry out in a few hours.

Too bad there isnt a loop on the inside middle to hang it inside out to dry, over a window? door? anywhere? lol always a stool. they make some that are interesting for elders, that have a u shape in the middle for washing! I think it needs a zipper to let you out of it faster. Just watched a youtube showing the shower in a Halo Shower by Storyteller Overland that closes with magnets, perhaps you could do that to this one? just cut down top to bottom and glue magnets to one side and tiny washer to the other. I tend to be claustrophobic and i like your shower but yeah i need to be able to get out quickly ;)

🤨 Looks like you just made the product worse. Now you have to add ice to your tiny cooler more often. And that mini freezer just adds heat to your van. So you are making your environment hotter… to then turn around and use the heat the freezer pumped into the van to freeze ice packs so you can cool it down. This is lady that lives in a van level dumb.

I drilled a hole through the roof and used a 1 inch pipe nipple to act as a bit of a conduit for the wire, and also to prevent water from entering the cabin of the van. The two solar panel wires are 48 V DC open circuit which is quite high for 12 V battery but it doesn’t matter because I’m using the maximum PowerPoint tracking charge controller, which are very common nowadays. I’m using the epever 40 amp controller and that is connected to three lithium ion batteries that charge up to 32 V because they are for a 24 V inverter but the car battery is only 12 V so I bought a little DC to DC converter that can make 70 A of current at 12 V from the higher voltage of the other lithium batteries. I set the little trim pot which is a little rotating dial on the converter to 14.0 V and that way it acts like an electronic alternator for my van.. This has been five years now and I’m never going to repair my alternator and I have tons of power . My solar panel is 230W. I’ve added four more charge controllers in my van with the option to add up to 10,000 W of solar panels so that I will have enough power to run pretty much anything at all including charge my other electric car Good luck
